Clinical Skills Centres (CSC’s) are regarded as an important
component of non-medical and medical training. The CSC provides
a safe area in which all professional staff within the Trust
can practice a variety of clinical skills in a relaxed, safe
and supportive environment.
The CSC can provide a pre patient experience, assessment of
tasks requiring a particular skill, allow communication skills
to be developed and tested and allow a surrogate patient experience.
Aims
To provide a dynamic environment in which all health care professionals
can learn and develop clinical skills.
To create a Centre of local and regional excellence, which evolves
to provide theory and practice to enhance the practical care
given to patients.
To facilitate evidence based health care and research by the
use of information technology.
