This is where patients undergo many 'heart tests'. Staff here
are known as cardiac technicians and will perform tests as requested
by the cardiologist. Tests can include a Electrocardiogram (ECG)
(to check the heart beat) and a Echocardiagram (an ultrasound
scan of the heart). We also check pacemakers to ensure that
they are working correctly and can re-programme these when necessary.
Other tests include exercise tests on a treadmill and the fitting
of ambulatory ECH monitors, which record the heart rhythm over
a 24 hour period.
