Schools & Colleges
Firstly we'd like to say a huge thank you to the thousands of children from local primary schools who took part in our ‘Big Sit Still’ event last year and raised valuable funds for our new Renal Unit. We truly appreciate your support and will be posting details of our next school fundraising event very soon.
Fundraising at school or college is a great way to have fun and below are a few ideas to get your started:
- Staff Vs Students Sports Day
Do you have a football, netball or hockey team? If so organise a match against your teachers and charge everyone else to come and watch.
- Organise a dress down day
Why not make it a little bit different and make everyone wear something red.
- Get sponsored
Keep silent for a whole day, organise a danceathon during your lunch time, or a sponsored walk round your school or college and get parents and teachers involved as well.
- Organise a ‘Battle of the Bands’ or ‘Pop Idol’ event
To raise even more money charge people to come and watch the audition stages before the grand final!
- Hold a cake sale
Everybody loves them!
- Organise a raffle
For Easter or Christmas get prizes donated and then organise a rep from each class to help you sell tickets.
However you choose to fundraise, let us know by calling 0121 333 8506 or email us at info@bch.org.uk and our team will be able to provide the help and support you need.
St Augustine’s Talent Show
On Thursday 24th June, children from the Foundation Stage at St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School held a Talent Show and raised £200 to buy some toys for the children in hospital.
Children designed posters to advertise the show. They made tickets and programmes which they sold to their parents. They also helped with the making of refreshments which were served to the audience at the end of the performance. Staff also enjoyed taking part!
This was part of the Business Enterprise Challenge, which is an annual event organised in conjunction with local businesses.

Hall of Fame
We want to know how you’ve been raising your money for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, so if your school or college has done something a bit different then send us your story and photos to make sure you’re featured on our Hall of Fame.
