The Bupa London 10,000

Time: 11:00

Location: St. James’s Park, London

The Bupa London 10,000 is a 10km run held on the course that will be used for the 2012 Olympic Marathons. The 2012 race will be held on Sunday 27th May, starting at 11am.

The Bupa London 10,000 starts and finishes in St. James’s Park and uses Green Park as its assembly area.
The race starts on Birdcage Walk and follows an anti-clockwise route around the City of Westminster and the City of London via Parliament Square, Embankment, Blackfriars Bridge, Queen Victoria Street, Cannon Street, Great Tower Street, Crutched Friars, Fenchurch Street, Leadenhall Market, Cornhill, Queen Victoria Street, Puddle Dock, Embankment, Horseguards Avenue, Whitehall and via Trafalgar Square to the Finish in The Mall.

Runners pass many of London’s famous sights, including Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, The London Eye, Cleopatra’s Needle, Tate Gallery, Millennium Bridge, The Monument, Lloyds of London, Leadenhall Market, Bank of England, Mansion House, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Horseguards, Nelson's Column and Admiralty Arch. Buckingham Palace acts as the backdrop to the start and finish.

Our Schools Fundraising Heroes!

  • Thanks to the staff and pupils at Yew Tree Primary School in Solihull who held a “Kick it for Kids” goal scoring challenge event for us at the end of term – and for dressing up as doctors and nurses to do it! You were fantastic!!

  • Well done to students at Bishop Walsh Roman Catholic Secondary School in Wylde Green, who recently presented us with a cheque for £778.92 raised in the run up to Christmas.
  • Thank you to pupils from Edgbaston High School for Girls who have chosen Birmingham Children’s Hospital as their charity of the year.
  • Good luck to Event Management students at University College Birmingham who are holding a Casino Night at Broadway Plaza in Birmingham to raise funds for us on 17th May.
  • Thanks to the fantastic students at Lordswood Girls School in Harborne, who raised £855.04 by holding a 24 hour basket ball marathon!
  • A big thank you to Miles Evans and fellow students from Aston University who raised a staggering £1634.77 by shaking buckets at New Street, Snow Hill and Moor Street Stations in Birmingham recently.
  • Congratulations to Samiah Tariq and friends who raised £90.24 by holding a Great Cake Bake sale during break time at Park View School in Small Heath, Birmingham.
  • Well done Beauty students at Wolverhampton City College who raised £575.64 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital by holding a week long Beauty-a-thon!
  • Thanks to everyone at St Michaels Business and Enterprise College in Rowley Regis for choosing Birmingham Children’s Hospital as their charity of the year and good luck with your forthcoming events.
  • A massive thank you to Dorridge Nursery & Infant School who raised £1,680.00 for our intensive care unit by holding a spellathon and filling smarty boxes with coins! Well done everyone!!
