Sign up nowIf you are looking for a cause to raise money for that is at the centre of the Midlands community then look no further.

Our children come from your communities and they need your support. The money you raise could improve the environment of the hospital in which our children recover. We are so lucky to have the support of many schools around the Midlands region and the money you raise really does make a difference. Whether it is a sponsored run, fashion show or even just a school raffle the schools of the midlands have an amazing community spirit. Each year you raise thousands of pounds for good causes and we hope you will join us in making a difference to our children this academic year.

If you are a school looking for that something extra why not join the Skilled Up-Enterprise programme for further education and not only choose to raise money for us but work towards fulfilling your studies as well! (Must be a registered user of the Skilled Up Enterprise Course.)

"We decided upon the Birmingham Children's hospital as we are a school and know many students that attend the hospital for either personal reasons or because of family members."

Pauline Astle tells us about how she and her students are making a difference!

I am the form tutor of 8EW and we wanted to raise some money for charity. We decided upon the Birmingham Children's hospital as we are a school and know many students that attend the hospital for either personal reasons or because of family members. We set up a committee called the 'odd socks' and that comprised of 4 girls; Hollie Farrell, Eleanor Price, Rachael Milne and Ieva Hughes.

As a form group we carried out many events including a sponsored walk around school, a cake sale, raffling off a Villa and Blues cake and name the teacher from the baby photo competition. We then extended our fund raising to other form groups and they completed a sponsored walk around school. By the end of this we raised £2111.94

We then signed the school up to do the BRMB Walkathon. This took place on 8th May and we had 41 students, teachers and parents and families complete this and again raised more than £2000.

So all in all we raised £4609.96.

We had a big assembly and presented students with certificates for their achievement and also two large cheques to Foxy and Giuliano from BRMB breakfast show and two nurses, Steph Banks and Dana Oliver, from the Childrens hospital.

Our form also won the Key Stage 3 citizenship award at school for all our hard work.

The students have gained many new skills from this experience and has overall made them more responsible, caring and dedicated to helping out wherever they can. We are hoping to continue this work into next year and raise even more money for a very worthwhile cause.
