Please help us to build the UK’s first Rare Diseases Centre for children
The heart-breaking poem above was written by 11-year-old Matab, who has Gaucher’sDisease. It's a condition so rare that only 325 people in the UK are living with the symptoms.
Her words rally us to do even more to ensure none of our little stars with rare or undiagnosed conditions are left feeling alone. Will they rally you to do more too?
Will you help us to build our ground-breaking Rare Diseases Centre, ensuring specialists can work together to get children like Matab the extra-special care and support they need?
Our hospital is one of only four specialist children’s hospitals in the UK. Each year, we see around 9,000 children with more than 500 different rare conditions. Many of these rare diseases affect more than one part of the body, and cause multiple problems. This means children need to see many specialists – attending different appointments at different times, on different days.
That’s why we need your help to build a new centre, where specialists can work together under one roof to diagnose, treat and care for children with rare diseases – more quickly and more effectively.
Your donation will help us to create a ground-breaking development that will lead the way in research and care.
