Birmingham Children’s Hospital has thousands of supporters and fundraisers who repeatedly go out of their way to make a real difference to the children and young people in Birmingham and beyond. Each week we will be telling the story of one of the hospital’s dedicated Charity Champions to highlight the difference that they are making.
Name: Niyaa People
Occupation: Specialist Recruitment Consultancy
Brief Description: Niyaa People raised £2,367 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity at its seventh annual charity evening.
Stylish staff at a local recruitment consultancy have cat-walked into this week’s Charity Champion top spot by raising a dazzling £2,367 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.
Inspired by the extraordinary stories they’ve heard from colleagues and clients alike, many of whom have a personal connection to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, the 20-strong team organised their seventh glitzy fundraising function in aid of the hospital’s Oncology Ward (Ward 15).
Every year Niyaa People hosts its annual charitable evening, boosting funds by arranging a raffle and auction, which this year saw prizes such as a trip for two to Wales, theatre tickets and a golf day with a qualified PGA professional, kindly donated by local businesses.
Operations Director Niki Kaur said: “We’ve all been very touched by the heart-warming stories we’ve heard from our own families, clients and close networks, so each year we love to get glammed up and come together to help raise much-needed funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.
“The hospital gives incredible support, but most importantly hope, to families who are going through really tough times and we’re delighted to have raised another £2,367 for Ward 15, bringing our total donations to a whopping £11,414.”
Elinor Eustace, Deputy Director of Fundraising at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, added: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Niyaa People for their phenomenal support over the last seven years.
“Our brave cancer patients are some of the most poorly children and young people in the region and the money Niyaa People has donated will make a huge difference to both them and their families.”
