Volunteer with our Fundraising Team!
By giving just a little of your time, you can help us make a big difference to the lives of our patients and their families!
As a charity we rely on the support we receive from our wonderful volunteers.
Whatever your reasons for volunteering we can find an opportunity to meet your needs and lifestyle, from fundraising administration to supporting one of our exciting events. There is really something for everyone.
Here are some of the ways you can give your time as a volunteer:
Volunteer at events
We are always looking for volunteers to help out at our amazing events throughout the year. You could be doing anything from welcoming participants, to cheering our runners on at the Great Birmingham Run. Whatever your role on the day, we guarantee you’ll have an amazing time!
Volunteer in our office
Our fundraising office is always a busy place and we can always do with a helping hand. If you have admin skills and enjoy being in a fast-paced environment we could be the place for you.
Volunteer collection tin coordinator
If you are a real people person and can strike a conversation with anyone in your local community, our collection tin coordinator could be the role for you! This would require you to visit local shops and business and ask them if they would like a Birmingham Children's Hospital collecting tin. Every few months you would need to swap the tins for an empty one and return the full ones to us.
Christmas volunteering in retail
We have some exciting retail opportunities upcoming for the 2016 Christmas period! We will have a number of ‘pop-up’ shops in Birmingham City Centre along with Santa’s Grotto located in House of Fraser and we will need an army of elves (volunteers) to help support our fundraising team at these throughout December.
Other volunteering roles
If none of the above roles are for you, don’t worry - there's lots more roles to choose from to suit you! You can fill out our application form and tell us about what you would be interested in doing, alternatively you can drop us an email at email@example.com
Due to legal requirements you must be 16 to volunteer. If you are 16 or 17 we will need parental consent.

Volunteering on wards
*Please note our volunteer roles do not include patient contact. Very rarely will our volunteers visit wards. If this is the type of volunteering you are interested in, please contact the hospital's volunteer service:
