Our volunteers are an integral part of the fundraising team. We rely on their many and varied skills, their commitment and their enthusiasm to help us run our events and ensure that we provide our supporters with the very best fundraising experience.

How you've helped

Nobody knows better than our young patients what a difference you are making to their lives.

Their treatment is gentler and their cures are closer, thanks to the research you've helped fund.
Staying in hospital or coming for a procedure is more comfortable than ever, because of the money you've raised.
Faster equipment and less invasive techniques mean treatment is less distressing, due to the innovation you have enabled.

Star Appeal

By Christmas 2016, we had already raised more than £2.5 million towards our £3.65 million Star Appeal to build the UK’s first Rare Diseases Centre for children. Thanks to your generosity, this will transform the lives of so many sick children in our care and beyond.

Birmingham Children's Hospital has been there through all my treatment and new centre will mean so many more children with rare diseases can benefit from their amazing care.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charity has relied on local businesses for a helping hand as it continues to support the vital work our two hospitals provide to patients from across the region. One such company is Solihull-based fitness clothing brand Gymshark, who as well as donating almost a quarter of a million pounds, has also given more than 650 hours of volunteering time, and travelled more than 9,217 miles to help the hospitals.

High flyer raises £2,000 for kids cancer unit

The sky was the limit for one woman from Great Barr after she took the flight of a lifetime in an extreme challenge for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, raising more than £2,150 for the hospital’s Oncology Unit where a close friend beat cancer.

Gifts in Kind

We often receive donations of toys and games for our patients, particularly around the festive seasons such as Easter or Christmas, and whilst we are incredibly grateful for these, we do have some guidelines around what we can or cannot accept.

Join #TeamBCH and take on the iconic Simplyhealth Great Birmingham Half Marathon on 10 October 2021. The Simplyhealth Great Birmingham Run is now established as the second biggest half marathon in the UK, with our city coming alive with thousands of runners pounding the streets as they tick off 13.1 miles, encouraged by on-course bands, entertainment and cheering crowds.
