If you want a great day’s walking, then The Edale Skyline is the perfect challenge. It is one of the most popular long distance routes in the Peak District, treating walkers to breath-taking scenery throughout. You can look forward to Roman roads, gritstone edges and a tough(ish) climb before the reward of striding out along one of Britain’s best ridges.

At 22 miles the Edale Skyline is certainly no doddle but it is an enticing, tough but do-able challenge that is a great introduction to long distance walking. At the end you will be pleasantly shattered but thrilled nonetheless!

Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity is working with Large Outdoors to deliver this exciting challenge. Large Outdoors will provide professional guides, who have walked this route many times, and will be on hand to lead the group – so you will be in knowledgeable hands!

Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic participants will need to be able make their own way to and from the challenge – exact meeting points will be confirmed once we know final numbers.

You can read Large Outdoors' COVID-19 walk procedure here which has full details of the kit you will need to bring (including a survival bag and face covering), and the rules that have been put in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable day of walking.
