#10YearChallenge. Rafe was just eight-years-old when he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. Now 19, he has spent over 10 years receiving treatment to control the tumour – which he has nicknamed ‘Warty’. In that time, he has made great friends with everyone on our Neurosurgical Ward, Ward 10, and has even turned his hand to fundraising for the department. Alongside his twin sister, Clemmie, the pair have raised over £50,000 in total! Rafe's tumour is stable and he is doing really well. Now a first year student at university, he has been transferred into adult care where he still receives regular check-ups to make sure his tumour isn’t growing. We are so proud of everything you’ve achieved Rafe and so thankful for all of your support. Where have the last 10 years gone?
