After picking up two Business Challenge trophies at last year’s Great Birmingham Run, kind-hearted colleagues from Lion Picture Framing Supplies are ‘roaring’ to run again this April in aid of our charity.

In a bid to raise valuable funds, twelve employees from the picture-framing firm, including Managing Director Nicola Harrold, have signed up to the Simplyhealth Great Birmingham 10k Business Challenge on Sunday 30 April.

Last year, the Bordesley-based business supported our charity at the half marathon event, winning a plaque for finishing third in the Medium Business Men’s category, plus an additional plaque for having 12 or more runners.

After conquering their first challenge, the Lion team were keen to dig out their running gear again for such a great cause, as Nicola explains:

Straight after last year’s half marathon, most people who took part said they wanted to do it all over again, but this time at the 10k.

A lot of people who work at Lion also live locally and have children, so Birmingham Children’s Hospital is a cause that so many of us care about.

Elinor Eustace, Deputy Director of Fundraising at our charity, added:

We’re truly thankful to have so many compassionate staff members at Lion Picture Framing Supplies running the Great Birmingham 10k on behalf of our charity – and for their second year, too!

The Great Birmingham Run is always one of our favourite events, as we witness a sea of red vests take over the streets of Birmingham. On the day, we’ll be cheering on the Lion team and our other incredible supporters, so make sure you sign up to support us too!

The Great Birmingham Run Series is one our biggest annual fundraisers and so far, over 300 participants have joined the 10k. The Business Challenge is also open to small, medium and large businesses, with prizes and plaques awarded to the top performing teams.
