Thanks to you our generous supporters, we often receive donations of toys and games for our patients, particularly around the festive seasons such as Easter or Christmas, and whilst we are incredibly grateful for these, we do have some guidelines around what we can or cannot accept.

Toy Donations

Due to issues such as infection control, health and safety and limited storage space, we can only accept new toy donations and there are some types of gifts we cannot accept at all, such as soft toys, clothes and second-hand toys. We have put together a list to give you an idea about what you could donate for our young patients, and some guidance about what we can and cannot accept. Please contact us to arrange a toy delivery or to speak to a member of the Fundraising Team.

This year, our hospital has introduced a new Healthy Holidays policy and we are now unable to pass on any donations of chocolate or confectionery to our patients.

If you’re thinking about donating a toy to our kids to comfort or entertain them during their stay with us, why not take a look at our Play Appeal. A new toy will make a child smile, but the power of an uplifting experience during a stressful time can mean the world. We know how important play is to a child’s recovery, so it’s our aim to bring play activities and a feeling of normality to the bedsides of our poorly children. Donate today and we can provide more of these moments and memories to our kids, to help them feel calmer and heal faster.

If you wish to make a donation of toys to our sick kids, please see the guidelines below:

Simple guidelines

  • Toys must be brand new
  • Toys must not be gift wrapped
