Matthew Bourne's 'The Red Shoes' visits our hospital

Wards 12 (Heart) and 15 (Oncology) were treated to a surprise visit earlier this month from prima ballerina Ashley Shaw and her co-star Glenn Graham, who were performing in Matthew Bourne’s prestigious ‘The Red Shoes’ at the Birmingham Hippodrome in February.

The dance duo took time out of their busy schedules to chat and pose for pictures with some of our delighted children, young people, families and staff, as well as hand out signed memorabilia.

A huge thank you to both Ashley and Glenn for dropping by, as well as our Consultant Anaesthetist Fraser Harban, who helped to arrange the visit – we had such a dazzling day!

We’ve partnered up with Collection 4 Clothes, a local clothing collection company, who collect donated good quality clothing, accessories, shoes, linen & bric-a-brac on our behalf. We don’t have any charity shops on the high street, so this is a way of donating your old belongings to us from the comfort of your home.
