Barclays One fundraise for our charity

The colleagues from Barclays, One Snowhill chose to support the charity after staff voted for their Charity of the Year. Many members of the team had visited Birmingham Children’s Hospital with their own children, and wanted to fundraise to give something back.

The team set out with the aim of raising £10,000 by the end of the year, and have taken on various fundraising activities to meet their target. From quiz nights to cake sales to the charity’s extreme abseil, the team managed to raise a fantastic £6,000 - this was then matched by Barclays £1 for £1 initiative, meaning Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity benefited from an incredible £12,000 cheque!

Throughout December, staff from the company also volunteered their time to spread festive cheer amongst the wards by taking part in the charity’s Christmas ward decorations project. Barclays sponsored Christmas decorations across the Oncology department and their elves brought a little Christmas magic to our sick kids!

Sandra Burbidge, Trade Client Service Advisor at Barclays, said: “We chose Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity as our Charity of the Year to thank them for all the incredible work they do. The hospital is a very special place to many of our staff and we’re thrilled to be helping them do more for the children they care for.

“We were even more inspired when we took part in the Christmas ward decorations project last week, speaking to staff and patients on the Oncology ward encouraged every single one of us to go above and beyond to help this charity do more.”
