Charity Action Team Member

This is a fantastic & flexible role that allows you to volunteer where & when suits you. As a member of the Charity Action Team you will receive regular invites to volunteer your time at specific events or activities, in Birmingham and the surrounding areas, and you can pick & choose what you sign up for. This role is a vital part in enabling us to extend our charity presence and impact regionally by representing the charity in your local community and at a variety of events and activities across the whole Midlands Region. 

What can you expect to be doing? 

You can pick & choose the activities that may suit you from a calendar that will be circulated on a regular basis.  Just let us know what you want to do & when, and we will send you more details.  Activities on offer could include;

  • Attending fundraising or other events to help ensure events are manned and run safely.  This could include manning a merchandise or registration stall, acting as marshal at an event, cheering event participants at big sporting events, and helping us to sign up new supporters and volunteers to support the charity.
  • Distributing Charity Posters, Leaflets and Collection Tins in your local area
  • Collecting donations using collection tins, buckets or contactless devices – as instructed by Fundraising Staff
  • Office based admin work including research, envelope stuffing for key campaigns or projects or phone calls to our supporters,
  • Talking about the Charity at a local events (as part of our Ambassador Programme – full training will be included if this is of interest)
  • Supporting various activities during the Christmas period including sorting & distributing toys, and helping at our Christmas Grotto. 
  • Identifying new opportunities for our charity within your local area – e.g. new businesses, shops, community organisations, bars/restaurants etc.
