My name is Jaya and I am nine and a half. I am in Year 4, and I live in Shropshire with my mum and dad. I have a 5-year-old brother and I enjoy cycling, drawing and making treasure maps with him. I love reading, stand up paddleboarding, dancing and of course, art.

When I grow up I would like to be an environmental scientist so that I can keep the planet safe and protect it for future generations. I have also done some fundraising for the Woodland Trust and have raised money to plant trees with my friend and brother by baking and selling cookies to our local community.

My art teacher, Sallie, used to be a patient at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and told me about this competition. She had lots of operations on her hands, arms and back and because of the skill of the doctors at BCH is now an amazing artist and teacher. I wanted to design a Christmas card to make people smile, and to show appreciation for our NHS and all of the wonderful work they do to take care of us when we need them.
