LDC has been named this week’s Charity Champion after raising over £160,000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.

LDC has supported the Children’s Hospital for over a decade, hosting various fundraising activities including its annual charity quiz, golfing days and many personal challenges taken on by its staff. They have also played a significant part in the charity’s major appeals such as the Heart Appeal, Star Appeal and more recently The Big Sleuth.

The fantastic team has now set their sights on supporting the Critical Journeys Appeal for 2018. The £2million appeal has £340,000 left to raise to equip a fleet of four Critical Care Ambulances with the latest, life-saving equipment. To support the appeal, the team will again be supporting the charity with their annual quiz night whereby LDC offices across the country compete whilst raising an incredible amount for nominated charities across the country.

Andy Lyndon, head of West Midlands at LDC, said: “Birmingham Children’s Hospital makes a huge contribution to our city and country every day of the week, and at LDC we’re proud to be one of its longstanding fundraising partners.

“As our local charity partner, the hospital will continue to form an important part of LDC’s 2018 fundraising efforts and this year, once again, funds raised through a host of calendar events will be donated to the good work they do.

“The hospital makes a massive difference to the lives of so many children and families across the country, and LDC is committed to raising as much money as possible to help the hospital continue its fantastic work.”

The money LDC has raised over the years has gone on to make an incredible difference to the hospital, helping to build the first hybrid cardiac theatre in the UK, as well as the UK’s first Rare Diseases Centre which is due to open later this year.

Eloise Davidson, Corporate Fundraising Manager, at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said:  “Thanks to dedicated supporters like LDC, our charity is truly able to go above and beyond for our patients and families. We treat over 90,000 sick kids at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and with help from kind-hearted supporters like LDC, we are able to offer them the best experience possible.

We would like to say a huge thank you to LDC for everything they continue to do for us and in particular being chosen as our Corporate Partnership of the Year 2017/18. They are all amazing!
