TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

All proceeds from the Big Spring Raffle 2024 will be donated to Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity. Tickets are not for sale to, or by, anyone under 18 years of age. 

Both General Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy (both available at bch.org.uk) also apply when entering the Big Spring Raffle, or when interacting with Birmingham Children’s Hospital through any other means.

Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charity is committed to protecting your data, and we will never sell our supporter’s data to third parties. By providing us with any personal information you consent to the terms and conditions of our Privacy Policy.

Who can enter:

The Raffle is open to UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man residents aged 18 years or over only.

Opening/closing date & time:

·       The Raffle in relation to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity (“BCH”) Big Spring Raffle 2024 (“Big Spring Raffle”) opens for entries via, post and online via the www.bch.org.uk/raffle website) on Wednesday 21 February 2024.

·       Entries for the extra Fast Draw prizes need to be received by Friday 29 March 2024. 

·       Raffle closes for entries via all channels on Friday 3 May 2024, any entries received after this date will not be entered into the draw, and all monies will be treated as a donation.

Winner selection & contact:

·       The draw will take place on Friday 10 May 2024.

·       Subject to eligibility and compliance with all applicable terms and conditions, the first entry drawn at random from all eligible entries will win the first prize, and this process will be repeated for subsequent prizes until all are allocated.

A single entry costs £1.

Prizes

Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, the prize provider and their agents will not be liable where any prize has been lost, damaged or stolen following delivery, or should any of the terms and conditions set out in this or other statements or specified on individual prizes have not been met by either the Winner or BCH.  Any such prize under these circumstances will not be replaced.

Prize 1 – Cruise provided by Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

This is one (1) prize consisting of a cruise provided by Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines. 

The winner will receive details about how to claim the prize (provided by BCH). Full terms and conditions of the cruise are as follows:

· The lucky winner will receive a cruise for 2 aboard one of our cruise ships for a maximum of 7 nights. Dates of sail must be during May 2024 to December 2024 from any UK port. Cabin allocated is a D grade cabin.

· The prize is for two adults.

· The prize is on a cruise only basis (drinks not included) and does not include transport to the port.

· The winner and their guest will receive full board status, including buffet and a’ la carte breakfasts and lunches, as well as sumptuous five-course a’ la carte or buffet dinners.

· The prize does not include any additional expenses such as parking at port.

· A gratuity of £5 per person, per day, will be added to the onboard account and must be settled at the end of the cruise. This cannot be removed.

· The prize does not include travel insurance. The winner will be responsible for sourcing their own cruise specific travel insurance, including cancellation or curtailment cover for Covid-19, plus cover for any medical, repatriation and expenses costs as a result of a Covid diagnosis or illness during the cruise, without which they will be unable to board.

· The winner must have a full and valid passport, with at least six months’ validity from the last day of the cruise.

· This promotional competition is not for resale, is non-refundable and non-transferable and will not be replaced if lost or stolen. No cash/credit refunds can be given under any circumstances and this prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offer.

· If Fred. Olsen is required to cancel this cruise for any reason, a suitable alternative cruise will be offered.

· The winner will be solely responsible for any tax liability incurred as a result of this offer.

· Upgrades and additional guests are subject to availability and will incur additional costs.

This is one (1) cash prize worth £500.

Fast Draw Prizes – 10 x £10 Tesco gift cards 

Each entrant who returns their tickets and payment by Friday 29 March 2024 will be automatically entered into the Fast Draw. Selected winners of the Fast Draw will be awarded a £10 Tesco gift card each. There are ten (10) to be won.

Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity General Raffle Terms and Conditions

1.       This Raffle is being promoted by: Miranda Williams, Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity 

2.       It is promoted on behalf of “the Society”:  Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity

3.       The Society, registration no. 1160875.

4.       The Society is operating a Society Lottery under the Gambling Act 2005.

5.       By entering the draw/s, participants agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and Rules.

6.       The draw/s opens for entries at 12am on Wednesday 21 February 2024 and closes for entries at 5pm on 3 May 2024.

7.       Entries for the Fast Draw need to be received by Friday 29 March 2023. The prize winners will be selected randomly from all qualifying entries and will be drawn on Tuesday 2 April 2024. 

8.       To enter the draw/s a ticket (or tickets) must be purchased online or by purchasing via return slip made available by Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.

9.       The winner(s) of the draw/s will be chosen at random from all entries received by the Closing Date.

10.    Where relevant, winners will be requested to arrange collection of their prize from Birmingham Children’s Hospital (Steelhouse Lane, Birmingham, B4 6NH). Where this is not possible, Prizes will be delivered to an address specified by the winner on the UK mainland or specified address.

11.    No cash alternative is available.

12.    Your chances of winning are variable, depending on how many tickets are sold for the raffle as a whole. Your winning odds are the number of tickets you have purchased divided by the total number of tickets in the draw.

13.    The game is open to all UK residents who are aged 18 or over on the date of ticket purchase.

14.    Any person found to be under years of age on the date of ticket purchase automatically forfeits the right to the Prize.

15.    You must be 18 (eighteen) or over to play or claim a prize. We may conduct random checks of entrants to ensure there are no underage players. Random checks are conducted using AgeChecked (or similar service from a third party supplier as and when stipulated). If a person enters the game stating that they are over the age of 18 (eighteen) and subsequently it is found that they are less than 18 (eighteen) years of age, they will have any money paid in relation to the draw/s returned to them and where relevant will automatically forfeit the right to any prize.

16.    The winner may need to provide proof of age before collecting the prize. Acceptable documentation of the winner’s proof of age will be a scan of their passport or driving license.

17.    When you purchase a ticket for the draw/s a unique ticket number will be issued and displayed onscreen at the point of purchase. Confirmation of your ticket number/s will also be emailed to the address supplied during the ticket purchasing process.

18.    Tickets to enter the draw/s are priced at £1 each and can be bought individually or in ticket bundles from this website and individuals are limited to a total spend of £100.

19.    All draw/s entry sales are final. Refunds are at the sole discretion of the Society and will be payable only where the Society deems it reasonable, having regard for all the circumstances. All participants acknowledge that their payment of the ticket price does not guarantee that they will win any Prize.

20.    Full payment for each ticket must be received in cleared funds before the ticket can be entered into the draw/s. Only tickets for which full payment has been received are eligible to win the Prize/s.

21.    Payment for tickets via this website can be made by debit card only.

22.    Winners of the Raffle Prizes will be contacted by the Society within seven working days of the draw/s taking place. Details of the winners will also be posted on the Website.

23.    All participants are solely responsible for providing and (where necessary) updating the Society with their accurate and up-to-date contact details and the Society will be in no way liable for any failure or inability to contact any participant due to any errors, omissions or inaccuracies in the contact details that the participant has provided.

24.    The Society shall not be liable to any participant for any loss or damage suffered or arising from:

·       any delays or failures in the delivery methods used by the Society or the participant;

·       any delays or failures in any software or other systems used by the Society for the administration of the draw/s;

·       any delays or failures in the banking system used by the Society or the participant;

·       any refusal by the Society to accept an individual’s entry or the cancellation of an entry;

·       any event beyond the reasonable control of the Society.

25.    To the extent permitted by law, the Society excludes any liability for loss or damage incurred by any winner of a Prize in connection with or arising from the use of the Prize or participation in the draw/s.

26.    The Society is committed to protecting the privacy of participants. Personal information that is collected from participants is used lawfully in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. In providing your information to the Society, you consent to the Society using your information to process your entry and otherwise as described in these terms and conditions including (but not limited to) passing winners’ contact details on to representatives of third party companies used for the purposes of fulfilling the Prize and publishing winners’ names on the Website. 27.    The Society reserves the right to:

·       disqualify or decline to accept the entry of any participant if it has reasonable grounds to believe the participant has breached any of these terms or otherwise acted fraudulently;

·       terminate or suspend the draw/s for reasons beyond its reasonable control

28.    In the event of any dispute regarding the draw, if the dispute cannot be resolved by the parties, it will be referred to an independent third party. Please refer to the Social Responsibility Policy at website address.

30.    The Laws of England and Wales shall govern the interpretation and/or enforcement of these Rules. The Society and all participants hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
