Clothing Donations and Recycling We’ve partnered up with Collection 4 Clothes, a local clothing collection company, who collect donated good quality clothing, accessories, shoes, linen & bric-a-brac on our behalf. We don’t have any charity shops on the high street, so this is a way of donating your old belongings to us from the comfort of your home. Look out for our Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity bags in your letterbox, fill up the bag inside with your unwanted goods, and leave them out for collection on the specified day – safe in the knowledge that your old possessions will find new homes, whilst helping us to do more for sick kids and their families. And if you can’t support us this time, please be aware that all of our Collection 4 Clothes bags are recyclable, along with other plastic bags at large supermarkets. High quality donated items are exported to retailers throughout Europe (usually around 85% of donations) with the remaining items being recycled, so as well as helping Birmingham Children’s Hospital you are also doing your bit to ensure a greener planet for generations to come. Collection 4 Clothes staff will always wear clearly branded t-shirts and ID, drive a clearly marked Collection 4 Clothes van, and will only operate in licenced areas. If you have any concerns that the collections are not being collected by authorised personnel, please contact the Customer Service Line on: 0800 774 7195 or via their Social Media channels. Bulk Collections and Recycling Units: Supporters wishing to donate a high volume of items (e.g. 5 bags or more), can contact Collection 4 Clothes directly on 0800 774 7195 to see if this can be accommodated (although this isn’t guaranteed). This partnership also allows us to arrange one-day collections or the permanent positioning of large red Recycling Units (complete with our charity branding) at locations across the region, such as retail parks, workplaces, places of worship and schools. If you have any queries, or would be interested in helping us with a one-day collection or a Recycling Unit in your community, please contact us here.
