My interest in fundraising was first sparked following my last module ‘events management’ whereby I project led a team to raise awareness and funds for local charity St. Basils. I had selected to complete my placement at Birmingham Children’s Hospital as it was organisation close to my heart and a company I would be proud to be a part of.

During my time I had worked particularly close with the corporate team, predominantly attempting help raise awareness for the recent merge of the Women’s and Children’s.  This involved me developing my skills in software’s such as Data system and Canva.

If you asked me 2 weeks ago to get onto a telephone and contact local business in hope of a partnership I would have been terrified. However, today I’m leaving my placement feeling confident and optimistic that I’m able to go into any industry with better social and communicating skills.

Working with the corporate team has been a pleasure; it’s refreshing to see a group work so well with one another. The constant support made it easier to feel part of the team whilst feeling like its ‘ok’ to get it wrong sometimes.

Thank you to all the staff at both the Children’s and Women’s for giving me the opportunity to work with such an amazing team and organisation.
