A dedicated member of staff has danced into this week’s Charity Champion top spot after raising over £6,500 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.

Ally Davies, Transformation Manager at the Children’s Hospital brought together her friends, family and colleagues for the charity ball last month where over 200 people attended.

The group hosted the Beauty and the Beast themed evening with food, live music and games for guests to enjoy, all with the aim of raising vital funds to help the hospital’s charity towards their £2 million Critical Journeys Appeal target.

The appeal, which was launched in August 2017, is raising money to kit out four Critical Care Ambulances with the latest, life-saving medical equipment.

Wolverhampton-based Ally said: “In my role, I get to see and work with many different services and have been fortunate enough to work with the KIDS/NTS team on a few occasions. I was blown away by the team’s passion, dedication and attitude. The way they support not only the babies and children, but also the families during the most challenging times is incredibly inspiring, it really is a vital service.

“When the Critical Journeys Appeal launched, I felt inspired to do something to support this amazing team who help others every day, and the Beauty and the Beast themed ball seemed perfect.”

Miranda Williams, Public Fundraising Manager at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “We’re so grateful to Ally and her colleagues for choosing to support our Critical Journeys Appeal at their ball.

“The money they’ve raised will go towards helping the KIDS/NTS service to respond faster and more effectively, helping critically ill patients and their families get to the right place, at the right time, for the right treatment.”
