Colleagues at a Black Country financial advisory firm have shown their commitment and dedication to share the wealth for sick kids, after raising over £15,000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.

The team at Prosperity Wealth, based in Brierley Hill, took part in a number of fundraisers as well as hosting their own events to raise the phenomenal amount for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, which it made one of its charity partners in 2019.

As well as donning their festive knits for the charity’s Jolly Jumper Day at Christmastime, the kind-hearted colleagues held an iPad Quiz at their office and a ‘tepee day’ where guests made a donation to join in the party.

Most recently the firm hosted an exclusive question and answer night with special guest, Gymshark founder and CEO, Ben Francis. Local businesspeople sought advice and insights, while proceeds from tickets sales went straight to Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, where Ben is also patron.

Thrilled that the company is giving back to the community, Prosperity Wealth CEO, Matt Bell, is also personally grateful for the team’s support for the hospital after his 16-year-old daughter, Emma, received a shock brain tumour diagnosis.

Matt said: “Emma was having tests to find out why she was feeling unwell, and we were absolutely gobsmacked when the scans showed tumours on her brain. Thankfully, these weren’t life-threatening and were likely to have been there since birth.”

Emma remained in Birmingham for tests until she was transferred to another hospital where she had surgery to remove the tumours from her brain. Thankfully the operation was a success and Emma was transferred back to Birmingham Children’s Hospital to recover and receive follow up treatment and care.

Matt continued: “Even though there was no immediate threat to Emma’s life, it was a terrifying experience for our family and we’re so grateful for the support we had from the brilliant staff at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. We’re so lucky to have this incredible facility on our doorstep and I’m filled with pride that my colleagues stepped up to help raise funds to give back, say thank you and help other families like mine.”

Helen Miles, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “Inspired by Matt and Emma’s story and the desire to use their business as a force for good, the team at Prosperity Wealth has really gone above and beyond for our charity and there are simply not enough words to describe how grateful we are.

“The phenomenal amount they raised through their events will go on to do more for our sick kids and help support families just like Matt’s.”
