Thankful Barney’s Summer Fundraising Challenge

An eight-year-old boy who rode 25 miles on his bike to raise over £400 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, is taking on another six weeks' worth of activities in the charity’s Summer Fundraising Challenge and is encouraging other youngsters to get involved.

Tayshelice’s Story

10-year-old Tayshelice has been a patient at our hospital since she was a baby after being diagnosed with sickle cell disease, a hereditary condition which produces unusually shaped red blood cells.

We often receive donations of toys and games for our patients, particularly around the festive seasons such as Easter or Christmas, and whilst we are incredibly grateful for these, we do have some guidelines around what we can or cannot accept.

Clothing Donations and Recycling

We’ve partnered up with Collection 4 Clothes, a local clothing collection company, who collect donated good quality clothing, accessories, shoes, linen & bric-a-brac on our behalf. We don’t have any charity shops on the high street, so this is a way of donating your old belongings to us from the comfort of your home.
