Please note that while COVID-19 restrictions are in place we can only offer limited opportunities to support our hospital through employee volunteering, so please get in touch with us directly by emailing [email protected] to discuss how you can get involved at this time. Thank you for your support.

There are lots of ways that you can support our hospital by donating your time, as an individual or as a team.

Art Kart

Art Kart is one of our weekly volunteering opportunities available for our corporate supporters, and provides supporters with the chance to spend some time in our busy outpatient and emergency departments entertaining our patients through arts and crafts!

Art Kart runs every Wednesday from 10.30am-12.30pm and Thursday from 13.30pm-15.30pm, and you will be supervised by one of our lovely Play Facilitators, Megan or Minara throughout, who make sure all volunteers have a great time!

Jane Bryan, from Lloyds Mid Markets, said: “Art Kart is such a wonderful experience. Everybody at Lloyds that has taken part is keen to do so again and we have a queue of volunteers awaiting future dates. The children are a real pleasure to get to know and when the parents come up to you offering their thanks for making their visit so much easier it makes it even more worthwhile. We love Art Kart!”

Apprentice Challenge

If your company is looking for a unique volunteering or team building opportunity then our Apprentice Challenge is the one for you!

apprenticeship challenge Alongside your colleagues, the   aim of the challenge is to raise   as much money as possible for   our patients here in a day! And   depending on the size of the   group we can also get the   competitive juices flowing by   splitting you up into teams.
With no limits to what you can   do, the day is always a fantastic   one to remember!
“Our team worked so well   together and there was an   amazing energy in the room, as   everyone was focussed on   raising as much money as possible.”
“The whole day I felt was really inspiring and I think our team work ethic and the results were amazing for such an amazing cause. It was great to meet a team that are so passionate about the cause and was a really uplifting and emotional day! Really proud of us all!”

Bucket Collecting

Have a spare half an hour in your lunch break? Why not do something amazing and pop along to our Hospital to help us raise vital funds for our sick kids through bucket collecting! It’s also a great way to learn more about the work our Hospital does and to meet some of our patients and staff!

Seasonal Volunteering

Ward Decorations

Every Christmas we invite our corporate supporters to decorate a ward or department within our hospital to help us spread some festive cheer to the children and families that we support. This is a great chance for our corporate supporters to get involved, meet some of our patients and see the difference that their fundraising throughout the year has made.

"Ward decorations is a great way for fundraisers to get hands on with Birmingham Children’s Hospital… Christmas is obviously a pretty rubbish time to be poorly, so we love the opportunity to come into the wards dressed a bit silly to try to spread some festive cheer!” Steven Calloway, Business Analyst for Extra Energy.

Elf and Grotto Duty

Put a smile on our patient’s faces this Christmas by helping to organise and distribute presents to our wards! Alternatively, help Father Christmas run his grotto and bring the festive cheer to our patients!
