Over the past two years, Mitchells & Butlers has hosted various fundraising activities for the Children’s Hospital including a charity golf day, sponsored cycles, football tournaments, wolf runs, skydives, abseils, sponsored waxing and more.

The fantastic team raised an incredible £7,000 in their first year, which then increased to £15,000 in year two. They have now set themselves the target of £17,000 for the upcoming year where they’re planning even more exciting events.

The team were inspired to fundraise after visiting the hospital for a guided tour. Internal Communications Co-ordinator, Louise Cooper, said: “As a Birmingham based business, we wanted to support a charity that was not only close in location but equally as close to the hearts of many of the people in the office. Many of our staff members  have close connections to the hospital, whether that personally or through a friend or family member.

“The Social Committee was lucky enough to go on a tour of the hospital where we were able to see first-hand the wonderful children that the hospital care for. We were so inspired by the staff at the hospital who were all so encouraging and positive, and it is this mentality that we channel when running our events, because we have seen where our money is going and the difference it makes.”

The money Mitchells & Butlers has raised will go towards the hospital’s  Critical Journeys Appeal which is fundraising to kit out a fleet of four  ambulances with the latest, life-saving equipment.

Miranda Williams, Public Fundraising Manager at Birmingham Children’s  Hospital Charity, said:  “Thanks to supporters like the team at Mitchells &  Butlers, our charity is able to provide the 90,000 sick kids at Birmingham  Children’s Hospital with the best experience possible. The money the  team has raised will go on to make such a difference to our patients and  families and we’re so thankful to Louise and everyone at Mitchells &  Butlers for their on-going support. It’s also amazing to hear that this  year they’ve set themselves the ambitious target of £17,000 and we  wish them all the luck with reaching it!”
