Our Hope Aquarium Ambassadors
Hope Aquarium Ambassadors to bring our ‘fin-tastic’ new aquarium to life
We’re excited to introduce our six patient ambassadors joining us as Hope Aquarium Ambassadors!
Meet our ambassadors
- Tony Sahota, aged four, from Halesowen, who loves Tiddler and The Snail and the Whale, Blue Planet, sharks and crocodiles.
- Roman Newell, aged six, from Burton on Trent, who has a passion for looking after crabs at the beach, and is committed to protecting all sealife.
- Brooke Davis, aged eight, from Stoke on Trent, who wants to help other patients feel calmer and happier, and look after the fish just like the doctors and nurses who take care of her.
- Eesa Ahmed, aged 10, from Birmingham, who really enjoys sharing interesting fish facts with everyone (including his teachers!) and wants to help make other sick kids smile.
- Angel-Lei Hope Styles, aged 13, from Birmingham, who loves everything underwater, especially scuba diving (which she hopes to get back to soon). She’s especially keen to help educate other patients on fun fish facts.
- Archie Buskin, aged 15, from Walsall, who is such a big fish fan that his prosthetic is decorated with pictures of marine life. He would love to be a play specialist and help sick kids when he’s older.
These amazing volunteers will be ‘chief marine officers’ for our 27,000 litre live-reef aquarium being created inside our hospital’s new front entrance.
Our Hope Aquarium Ambassadors will help select fish, coral and marine life, and work with a world-renowned expert from aquarium creators, ViDERE Aquariums, to make the aquarium educational, fun and engaging for patients and families.
The ambassadors will also support with official announcements and attend the grand unveiling of the aquarium later this year.
Thank you to everyone who applied to become a Hope Aquarium Ambassador. We received so many brilliant applications, showing real creativity and enthusiasm, and we are so grateful.
