How to run for us 

If you want to take part in the 2026 Great North Run, you can either take your chances with a ballot place or apply for one of our charity places.

Ballot places

For the 2026 event, The Great North Run are opening two ballots, one in September 2025 HERE and a second one in January 2026.

If you're lucky enough to get a place please email bwc.events@nhs.net with proof of entry and we’ll then send you a fundraising pack and your own iconic red balloon running top.

Apply for a charity place

Apply for by using the form below. Each place has a minimum fundraising target of £400. Places are given on the strength of your application.

Our charity places are currently all allocated.

Fundraising for your Great North Run

Once you've officially registered your charity place via the Great Run Company, you can set up you online fundraising page to start raising funds. The fundraising team will email a direct link for you to do this.
