Hope Aquarium Ambassador application

We’re offering six patients, aged between four and 16 years old, a once-in-a-lifetime volunteer role opportunity to become ambassadors of the brand-new 27,000 litre, live-reef aquarium being created inside Birmingham Children’s Hospital’s new front entrance. 

 Our Hope Aquarium Ambassadors will: 

  • Make important decisions, including helping choose the fish, corals and marine life which will feature in the aquarium 
  • Be a friend to our fish, helping to look after and learn the science behind how to maintain a healthy eco-system
  • Help us create a special educational pack with loads of fun fish facts 
  • Help promote the aquarium by appearing in special videos or in the media.

 Necessary skills: 

  • Passionate about fish, science, engineering or nature 
  • Like learning new things
  • Happy to advocate and share ideas 
  • Enjoy helping other people 
  • Lots of enthusiasm

Special requirements: 

  • You mut be a current patient of Birmingham Children’s Hospital and aged between four-16 years old 
  • As this role will include promotional activities, our ambassadors must be happy to appear on camera and in media
  • You must be willing to attend a handful of associated events throughout the year, for example the official unveiling of the aquarium
