Hope Aquarium Ambassador application
We’re offering six patients, aged between four and 16 years old, a once-in-a-lifetime volunteer role opportunity to become ambassadors of the brand-new 27,000 litre, live-reef aquarium being created inside Birmingham Children’s Hospital’s new front entrance.
Our Hope Aquarium Ambassadors will:
- Make important decisions, including helping choose the fish, corals and marine life which will feature in the aquarium
- Be a friend to our fish, helping to look after and learn the science behind how to maintain a healthy eco-system
- Help us create a special educational pack with loads of fun fish facts
- Help promote the aquarium by appearing in special videos or in the media.

Necessary skills:
- Passionate about fish, science, engineering or nature
- Like learning new things
- Happy to advocate and share ideas
- Enjoy helping other people
- Lots of enthusiasm
Special requirements:
- You mut be a current patient of Birmingham Children’s Hospital and aged between four-16 years old
- As this role will include promotional activities, our ambassadors must be happy to appear on camera and in media
- You must be willing to attend a handful of associated events throughout the year, for example the official unveiling of the aquarium
