AFH Wealth Management Raised Over £30,000 In Recognition Of Life-Saving Care
27 Jan, 2026
Employees at a Midlands-based wealth management company raised over £30,000 for our charity, recognising the life-saving care received by friends and family.
Colleagues at AFH Wealth Management, based in Bromsgrove, voted to support us as their Charity of the Year in 2025, as a cause close to the heart of the company’s employees.
The wealth management firm took on sky dives, bike rides, bake sales, charity football matches and the charity’s annual Dragon Boat Race, where teams race traditional dragon boats on the canal right in the heart of Birmingham. Thanks to these incredible fundraising efforts, the company raised over £30,000 to support sick kids.
AFH Wealth Management employees were inspired to fundraise by the life-saving and transformational care received by family and friends at our hospital.
One staff member’s two-week-old baby was operated on by our surgeons, saving the boy’s life. Our hospital also helped save an employee’s hearing when she was nine years old, with dedicated clinicians entirely rebuilding her eardrum.
Lucy Somner, Marketing and Communications Executive at AFH Wealth Management, said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure to fundraise and support such a worthy cause. Birmingham Children’s Hospital is so close to the hearts of so many of us here at AFH Wealth Management and that’s been so evident in the passion and enthusiasm everyone has put into our activities.”
This year, employees at AFH Wealth Management have voted to support our charity for a second year running, raising even more funds for the cause.
Annie Eytle, Head of Public Fundraising at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity said: “We’re so grateful for the incredible support of AFH Wealth Management, and thrilled to have been chosen as their Charity of the Year for a second time. The phenomenal sum raised will help us continue on our mission to do more for the 100,000 sick kids our hospital treats every single year.”
