City Centre Bars Saw Fundraising ‘Soar’
28 Jul, 2025
A group of popular city centre bars and restaurants that raised a glass to our charity with a specially created mocktail raised over £34,700 during a year-long charity partnership.
Aluna, Siamais and Lulu Wild, which are all part of the Enchanted Ventures restaurant group, began supporting us in 2024, after our charity came out top in a staff vote. Many members of the team cited their own experiences at our hospital, either as a patient or a parent, and many others knew someone else who had been treated there.
To support our charity, the group’s specialist bar mixers set to work to create a new, alcohol-free drink to add to their menus, to be sold at £6 with 20 percent to be donated to the charity. They came up with the ‘Passion and Soar’, a refreshing mix of raspberry, passionfruit, and grenadine, with its name giving a nod to the love and hope the hospital brings and its balloon logo.
In addition to the Passion and Soar mocktail, which was sold in Aluna, Siamais and Lulu Wild, all three venues agreed to add an optional £1 donation to support our sick kids on every bill. They accompanied this with an explanatory leaflet and to the team’s delight, many customers asked to increase their donation and give more than just £1.
Naomi Aly, Marketing Manager for Aluna, Siamais and Lulu Wild, said: “We’ve been blown away by the response to our Passion and Soar mocktail, which sold over 500 times in the last year, and the generosity of our patrons who agreed to donate £1 or more while paying their bills.
“As a gesture of our gratitude, we’re now working hard to welcome back our generous donors with a special discount – it’s our way of saying thank you for their incredible support in helping us raise such an amazing amount for a cause that means so much to our team and to the community of Birmingham.”
Ellie Maybury, Senior Corporate Partnership Officer at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Aluna, Siamais and Lulu Wild and their staff for their dedication and support during their partnership with us. The amount raised through sales of their specially created mocktail and donation initiative is astounding and will help us continue supporting and improving experiences at our hospital for countless brave patients and families.”
