Hire Safe Solutions Reaches New Heights for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity
26 Oct, 2026
A leading provider of powered access platforms and lifting solutions has reached new heights in support of our charity, raising more than £30,000 to help transform the lives of sick children and their families.
Leamington Spa-based Hire Safe Solutions began supporting our charity in 2024 and has since become one of its most enthusiastic corporate supporters. Recognised for its commitment to safety, service and innovation, Hire Safe Solutions supports customers across various sectors throughout the UK. As the business continues to grow, so too does its commitment to making a positive contribution to the communities it serves.
The charity partnership was established by Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Gerard Jennings, after he recognised our Children’s Hospital’s life-changing impact on many families across the region, including within his own business. Since then, colleagues from across the company’s nationwide network have united behind the cause, getting involved in plenty of fundraising activities.
Earlier this year, a team from Hire Safe Solutions joined businesses from across the West Midlands to take part in our Race the Plane challenge at Birmingham Airport, helping to raise thousands of pounds while competing against a real flight departing for Cancun in Mexico.
The company has also taken on the demanding Wolf Run challenge for three years running. Team members from across Hire Safe Solutions tackled mud, water, obstacles and challenging terrain to raise vital funds, showing real determination, teamwork and resilience that have helped establish the company as a trusted partner for customers nationwide.
These incredible fundraising efforts have been strengthened by Gerard Jennings, who has match-funded many employee-led initiatives. Together, the team has raised more than £30,000, supporting projects that make a real difference within our hospital.

The company were recognised as one of our 100 Heroes
Projects supported by the company include vCreate technology on our cardiac ward, which allows families who cannot remain at their baby’s bedside to receive secure video updates from clinical teams, helping them stay connected during some of the most difficult moments imaginable.
Gerard has also supported funding for a state-of-the-art baby simulation mannequin for our Heart Investigations Unit, one of the largest and busiest paediatric cardiology centres in the UK. The advanced training equipment helps clinicians develop and practise specialist skills that support the delivery of world-class patient care.
Gerard Jennings, Founder and CEO of Hire Safe Solutions, said: “Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity is a cause that means a great deal to us at Hire Safe Solutions because of the impact the hospital has on so many families across the region, including some of our own colleagues. The support our team has shown has been nothing short of inspiring. From muddy Wolf Runs to racing a plane, our colleagues have thrown themselves into every challenge with real passion, energy and purpose.
“We’re incredibly proud to have raised more than £30,000 so far, but even prouder to know those funds will help support life-changing equipment, technology and care for young patients and their families during some of the most difficult times in their lives. We look forward to continuing our support and making an even bigger difference in the years ahead.”
Pippa Crinage, HR Manager at Hire Safe Solutions, said: “Getting involved in fundraising events for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity is a fantastic way to bring our people together, no matter which part of the business they work in. Whether we’re organising a fundraising activity at one of our depots or taking on a challenge like the Wolf Run, everyone gets behind it. Most importantly, seeing the positive impact the funds make for children and families is incredibly rewarding.
“More than a business achievement, our fundraising is a reflection of our values and culture: caring for people, supporting communities, and making a positive impact wherever possible.”
Katie Harris, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “It lifts our spirits to see how much Hire Safe Solutions has achieved for our hospital. The team has thrown itself into every challenge with enthusiasm and commitment, while also supporting innovative equipment and technology that helps us continue delivering world-class care for our patients and families.”
