Housebuilder’s Tee-Riffic £25,000 Donation Fore Sick Kids

A Midlands housebuilder which ‘putt’ all its effort into a charity golf day to ‘drive’ donations raised £25,000 to help support young patients at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Redrow Homes Ltd, based in Tamworth, has been supporting Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity as its nominated cause for a number of years with many colleagues and their families holding it close to their hearts having either using the hospital’s services or knowing someone who has.

In 2025, the Redrow team agreed they wanted to do something spectacular for the charity and chose to hold a golf day, spurred by division Construction Director, Stuart Payne’s love of the sport. After months of organisation and rallying suppliers and contractors to donate gifts and prizes, the eagerly-awaited day took place at Drayton Park Golf Club in Tamworth.

Twenty teams of four player took to the course for 18 holes of golf with over 85 people in attendance to volunteer, spectate as guests and make the day possible. To bolster their fundraising effort, Redrow also held a lucky dip and a unique silent auction for their guests to enter, boasting prizes kindly donated by Stuart’s contacts and other construction names.

Stuart said: “This cause is deeply personal to some of our employees, who have directly benefited from the hospital’s services and understand the critical impact it has on families in need.

“It is our pleasure to be able to give such an amazing amount to help the hospital help others. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the invaluable support of Redrow’s sub-contractors and suppliers, for which we are deeply appreciative.

“The day totally exceeded our expectations, and it was fantastic to see all our attendees having such an enjoyable time, so we plan to hold another event next year to raise further funds for the charity.”

Katie Harris, Corporate Partnerships Officer at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “We’re so grateful to Redrow Midlands for their continued support and for benefitting our hospital with their fantastic golf day.

“They raised a phenomenal amount which will help us create better experiences for countless young people and sick children, through the improvement of our hospital environment and helping to fund new equipment and research.”
