Manufacturers Raised Money For Sick Kids
9 Mar, 2025
A Coleshill-based engineering manufacturer raised over £16,000 for our charity in less than a year, through holding multiple events, activities and fundraisers as part of its charity partnership.
Bosses at Sertec Group Holdings Ltd gave employees the chance to vote for their 2025 charity of the year and over 63 per cent chose us. The cause resonated with the colleagues, many of whom have their own children or grandchildren, and some had even had their own experiences at our hospital.
Since the start of the year, enthusiastic colleagues at Sertec have held cake sales, raffles, sold pin badges to raise awareness for mental health, held golf days and even pulled on their trainers to take part in the Royal Sutton Fun Run in aid of our sick kids.
One of the company’s most recent efforts saw office staff take on shop floor staff in a charity football match at Coleshill Town Football Club’s Pack Meadow, which raised over £485, including funds generated through a raffle supported by local businesses but mainly from Sertec employee’s.
Dave Steggles, Group Commercial and Procurement Director at Sertec Group Holdings Ltd, said: “We’re so proud of our fundraising for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity so far, but we’re not done yet! We’ve set ourselves a fundraising target of £25,000 over the year and look forward to reaching that through upcoming events such as the charity’s Dragon Boat Race in September, a Wolf Run and we’re even thinking of taking on the Three Peaks Challenge. It’s great to see our employees so driven by such an incredible cause, we have a wonderful team in Kira McClure and Abbi Brown that are constantly challenging the teams across the Group to support our Goal”
Ellie Maybury, Senior Corporate Partnerships Officer at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “From day one of their partnership with our charity, the team at Sertec have blown us away with their dedication and enthusiasm for supporting our hospital, patients and their families.
“Sertec have already raised a phenomenal amount which will go towards investments in the latest technology, helping to create child-friendly environments and improving experiences for our sick kids, and we can’t wait to see what they do next.”
