Recycling Heroes Raised Over £148,000 For Sick Kids
2 Feb, 2026
A clothes recycling company in Birmingham turned decluttering into cash and raised over £148,000 for our hospital, thanks to a special five-year partnership.
Since 2021, Collection 4 Clothes has saved an impressive 5,200-plus tonnes of pre-loved clothing, accessories and bric-a-brac from going straight to landfill, instead turning these donated items into vital funds for sick kids.
In partnership with us, Collection 4 Clothes, which is based at Fort Dunlop, has been making door drops of recyclable bags for residents to fill with good quality items they no longer need. Along with items left in their clothes banks, they’re then sent abroad where they’re sold at affordable local prices and the proceeds donated to our cause.
On top of the recycling, the enthusiastic Collection 4 Clothes team continued to go the extra mile, doing their own fundraising, including taking part in Jolly Jumper Days at Christmastime, and hosting NHS Big Tea fundraisers for the NHS’s anniversary, plus taking part in our 10,000 Step Challenge, where participants committed to walking 10,000 steps everyday over the course of a month. One committed employee even managed to lose almost a stone during the challenge, boosting their self-confidence while raising money for a good cause.
Jaz Sidhu, Head of Operations and Clients Relations at Collection 4 Clothing, said: “It’s been so exciting partnering with Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity over the past five years.
“My two-year-old grandson received expert care at the hospital, and you don’t fully understand the impact the charity has until you see it for yourself. The team behind the magic is what makes it all so special.”
Annie Eytle, Head of Public Fundraising at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “We’ve been completely blown away by the passion and energy of everyone at Collection 4 Clothes.
“Clothes recycling is a fantastic way to declutter your wardrobe and do your bit for the environment while improving patient experiences at our hospital – it’s a real win-win. We honestly cannot thank Collection 4 Clothes enough for the difference they’re making.”
