Patient and Family Experience
Christmas 2026 Appeal
Christmas should be a time filled with excitement, laughter and special moments with the people we love. But for many of our sick kids and families, Christmas may look very different this year.
Bringing Christmas magic to our wards
While our hospital teams continue providing incredible care throughout the festive season, we want to make sure every child spending time at our hospital can still experience some Christmas magic.
With your support, we can help fill our wards with festive cheer, bring smiles to our young patients and create special memories for families during what can be an incredibly difficult time.
Add a sprinkle of cheer to our hospital
Your donation this Christmas can help us go above and beyond what the NHS can provide, funding those special extras that make the hospital experience brighter for our sick kids and their families.
From fun activities and entertainment to creating special moments on the wards, your support can help make Christmas feel like a celebration, even when a child can’t be at home.
Every donation, whatever the amount, can help us make a difference.
Making a difference for families like Archie’s
Last Christmas, 17-month-old Archie needed urgent surgery at our hospital for a rare and life-threatening heart condition.
His operation was a success, but complications meant Archie and his family remained in hospital in the run-up to Christmas.

Despite everything they were going through, Archie’s family were able to experience some festive magic at the hospital.
On Christmas morning, Archie woke up to Santa’s snowy footprints, presents and festive decorations, bringing a special moment of joy during an incredibly difficult time. Reflecting on the support they received, Archie’s parents said it helped bring:
“A bit of normality when nothing is normal.”
Give the gift of Christmas joy
This Christmas, there will be more children and families spending the festive season in our hospital.
With your support, we can be there for them, helping to make difficult days a little brighter and creating moments of happiness when they’re needed most.
Please donate today and help make Christmas extra special for our sick kids and families.
