Transformed Front Entrance Coming To Life

The new front entrance at our Children’s Hospital is coming to life, supported by our £3m It Starts Here Appeal. 

Eagled-eyed visitors will have spotted that our construction team, BSN Group, have been been busy installing ‘glulam beams’. Delivered from Nordic countries, glulam is made of laminated timber, and these beams will make up the main support structure for our new front entrance.  

Once these beams are installed, over the next few weeks, the construction team will start installing the roof structure, with a lattice joining all the sections, followed by weathering before the glazing goes in.
