£4m Children’s Cancer Centre Appeal
Past Appeal
In February 2014 we hit target on our £4m Children’s Cancer Centre Appeal, which totally transformed our hospital’s inpatient and outpatient oncology department, bringing them together for the first time
Every year approximately 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer in the UK and around 250 (15%) are treated at our hospital
In February 2014 we hit target on our £4m Children’s Cancer Centre Appeal, which totally transformed our hospital’s inpatient and outpatient oncology department, bringing them together for the first time.
Our largest appeal to-date, it took two and a half years and over 4,000 individual donations to build the world-class facility our patients and families use today.
Located in Waterfall House and officially opened in July 2018, the new Children’s Cancer Centre, officially named the Paul O’Gorman Centre, is a far cry from the old, cramped and hot department which was over 30 years old.
Patients now have access to individual spacious cubicles with private on-suite bathrooms as well as age-appropriate play zones, better communal areas and an improved outpatients area which is busier than ever before.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, thousands of patients from across the Midlands now have access to the world-class facilities they need and deserve.
